Materials you will need:

  • 2x red paper cardstock
  • 1x yellow or gold foil paper cardstock
  • Adhesive tape and double sided tape
  • String for hanging the decor

How to Make a DIY Firecracker Decor for Chinese Lunar New Year

Start off by cutting a 8cmx18cm of red cardstock paper.

Attach two strips of yellow or gold foil paper on each side lengthwise.

Divide the paper into 3 pieces at 6cm width. You can make a couple of these to make a bunch of fake firecrackers

Now you roll each 6cm paper like in the image above. Use a marker pen to roll it nicely.

Cut the rolled paper more than half way, this will help bend the rolled paper into 2 fake firecrackers.

Once you have enough fake firecracker rolls, line it up like in the image above.

Cut out a 2.5cmx15.5cm red cardstock strip. Add double sided tape on this strip so you can attached your rolled out papers.
