For the past month, I have been using the Canon G3010 printer to assess its features and performance, and in this blog post, I will share my honest one-month review and provide my opinion on whether or not this printer is the right fit for your needs.
Overview of the Canon Pixma G3010
The Canon Pixma G3010 Printer is a great option for those looking to upgrade their printer. This printer offers a good combination of features, performance, and value. The key features of this printer include:
- All-in-One (printing, scanning, and copying)
- Wireless Printing and Direct mobile printing
- Refillable Ink Tank Colour
The Canon G3010 cost 10,195 pesos. I bought mine on Officewarehouse, but it’s widely available online as well. Canon Philippines even has a flagship store where you can directly buy online.

Setup and Installation
Setting up the printer is very straightforward. I just follow the instructional manual and I’m surprised at how fast and easy the setup and installation took. You just have to be very careful when you add each of the ink to the tank to avoid spillage.
The Canon G3010 only supports Windows OS. If you’re using an apple computer you need the Canon G3020 model instead.
There are a few different ways how you can print with this printer.
Option 1: Wired Connection: Basically this is the typical USB connection to your computer. But I have not set up my printer this way since I placed it a bit far from my laptop setup.
Option 2: Wireless Connection through Computer: For this option, you will need to install the software (CD provided or download it online) to be able to connect to the printer.
Option 3: Wireless Connection through Smartphone: For smartphone printing, you’ll simply have to download the Canon Print app to be able to connect to the printer.
Performance Evaluation
I tried to use the printer daily for the past month. And I have not encountered any printing issues. I mostly print in color to see how much ink consumption will it take.
I’ve noticed that ink consumption is much lesser compared to my previous printer which uses cartridges. The only downside I’ve noticed is that the printer is a bit noisy when printing, but this doesn’t take away from the overall quality of the output.
The scanner and copier work well as well though it’s not as rapid as it takes a while for the machine to heat up to scan documents. Though I don’t really need the scanner much it’s still good that I have that option just in case.
Print Quality
I can say that the printing quality is excellent. The colors are bold and vibrant, and the sharpness of the text is top-notch. Overall, I’d say the printing quality of the Canon G3010 is excellent and I’m very satisfied with it.
I tried different types of printing material from simple copy paper to printable vinyl sheets as well.
I get the best print quality when I use glossy or satin photo paper.
The G3010 Printer offers a print quality that is outstanding for a mid-range level printer.
Text documents and photos come out looking crisp and clear, making this an excellent option for printing photos.
Wireless Printing
The best part of this printer is the wireless feature and mobile printing. You can connect up to 5 devices. I love that you can place the printer away from your work area. Its wireless printing can work with or without a router at home so it’s not a problem if you’re not connected to the internet.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, the Canon G3010 is a great all-in-one printer for those looking for a reliable printing solution. The high-capacity ink tanks allow for longer printing sessions without needing to refill, and the simple setup process makes it easy to start printing right away. The quality of the prints is also excellent, and the device is fairly priced from what its features offer. For these reasons, I would recommend the Canon G3010 to anyone looking for a reliable and cost-effective printer.
